Pat,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I used 'mending plates'. The ones that I used are made by Stanley and are sold at Home Depot.

Regards,
Brian

Is there a safe way to cut an angle greater than 45 degrees on a chop saw?

I've only had to do this a couple of times in the past. What I did was cut a piece of 1X at a 45 degree angle. I taped (carpet tape) it to the miter saw from the bottom and used it as a fence. A safer way to do it is to use a piece of plywood roughly 2' long by 6" wide and clamp it to your saw (if possible). Now you can brad the piece of 1X cut at a 45 degree angle directly to the plywood. Again, use the 45 degree 1X as your new fence. By holding your stock against the 45 degree 1X you can now adjust your miter saw to cut miters greater than 45 degrees.

Hi:
I tried to look at the Video on the jig to sharpening Jointer blades.
All that showed something on flutes. What am I doing wrong? Am I looking in the wrong place?
I liked the way you set the jointer blades. Very good information.
Thank You
